After the events of the Shen Rebellion, the Halico Shen successfully splintered off from the Grey Isles, establishing their first independent settlement outside the Grey Isles since the Great Trade War. The Halico Shen view the expansion into the Plains of An’she as their rightful reclamation of the southern lands that once belonged to the Shen Empire in its prime. However, many newly-nationalistic Purelakers view the move as an act of aggression against their homeland.
